In his meantime, he runs a side business, Irv's Leather, where he creates handcrafted, custom leather goods.

Lenny's passion for baseball is what drove him to become more involved at the WTHLL Ballpark. After coaching for the past three years, he sought a more active role as a board member. Lenny's childhood was spent at this very park alongside his older brother, Ted. They both played little league at West Terre Haute for all of their youth until they aged out. Lenny was a three year starter at West Vigo High School under Coach Steve DeGroote. He signed a Letter of Intent to play at IU Bloomington, but was then drafted in the 11th round of the 2004 draft to the Milwaukee Brewers Organization.

All kids develop and peak at different ages. So if your child isn't an all star athlete, that's okay. Our mission here is to develop players by teaching them the proper mechanics and fundamentals of the game. We want them to fall in love with the game. We are teaching these young athletes what it means to show good sportsmanship, be a team player, respect, and safe play. I wasn't the best Little League player and I wasn't a player who was afforded the opportunity to play travel ball. I grew up here in this park. Hard work and perseverance is what drives success and that is what I want to instill in our youth. -Lenny Leclercq

We all have to start somewhere and it was here where I learned to fall in love with the game.-Lenny Leclercq

As a parent of two children, including a daughter who plays softball, we spend a lot of time at sports facilities. Everywhere we go, I see softball growing in popularity, but when we return to our community, it’s disheartening to see that we can't even field a league due to a lack of players. This gap inspired me to take action. I believe that by educating new coaches, umpires, youth players, and their families—and by staying engaged with our community—we can ensure that West Terre Haute Little League provides quality instruction and a safe, fun experience for all youth in our area.-Troy Ramsey

Troy grew up playing baseball at the Clinton Little League where he played minor, major, and senior Little League. He grew up playing youth sports and recognizes the impact it can have on a child. Troy is ready to revive and make the WTHLL Softball Program the best it's ever been!
